I started 19 years ago primarily doing Sclerotherapy (removal of unsightly red and blue spider veins), then I found a passion for sports massage.
I have been working in the Plettenberg Bay area for ten years, and have been involved in a number of sporting events in the Garden Route and surrounding areas, namely
- The Cape Pioneer Trek
- Otter Trail run
- Tsitsikamma Ultra Trail Run
- Drylands Traverse
I have also been involved in a few corporate cycle events that have been in the area as well as the Club 100 Cycle Tours from Port Elizabeth To Cape Town.
Aromaflex is a combination of Aromatherapy and Reflexology. We believe that each individual is unique and represents a complex interaction of body, mind and spirit.
These two therapies are thought to act synergistically to create an enhanced experience for the client.
Sports massage involves a deep tissue massage, helping the athlete to recover after an event or to prepare the athlete for an event to come. Massage is used in helping to rid the muscles of lactic acid, to help stretch muscles that are tight and to aid in any injuries.
Sclerotherapy is the removal of unsightly blue and red spider veins. Spider vein removal is a well known procedure that has been in use since the 1930's to treat varicose veins and spider veins. Patients with spider veins, particularly females, are understandably conscious of this unsightly condition which generally affects the lower legs the most although is not especially painful.
Sclerotherapy is a safe technique using a saline solution which is injected into the broken capillary. Patients can walk immediately after treatment for spider veins and are even able to drive home and resume regular activities, although you should refrain from jogging and swimming for at least a week. Approximately 4-6 treatments are required and these are done on a monthly basis under strict hygienic conditions.
Sclerotherapy treatments are available in Plettenberg Bay, George and Johannesburg.
Reflexology is a method of treatment involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. It is a non-invasive treatment which helps the body to maintain a delicate balance. Reflexology reduces feelings of stress, calms and relaxes. It improves circulation and encourages the body in the elimination of toxins.
Aromatherapy literally means ‘sweet smelling with the intent to heal’, and consists of a relaxing massage, using essentials oils to help heal the body.
