Only 10 minutes from the city centre, Ascot Inn is your perfect home-from-home whilst visiting Pietermaritzburg. You’ll receive a warm welcome backed up by friendly efficient service and comfortable accommodation.

All Rooms-en-suite are available to cater for differing needs and tastes, from corporate individuals and groups, to couples and families. Our rooms are all situated in beautifully landscaped gardens. Our dining room and bar facility, “Gallop Inn Pub & Grill”, serves delicious Buffet style dinners and the horseshoe shaped bar is renowned for its friendly atmosphere. In the morning the atmosphere changes with sunlight streaming through the windows and the lovely aroma of fresh coffee and breakfast in the air.

We offer WiFi connection free of charge to our guests in and around the Gallop Inn. Our guests are never left in the dark during power outages as we have a generator that keeps the darkness at bay.

OUR ROOMS

Our charming rooms are converted racehorse stables, which, in their day, stabled many legendary racehorses competing at the neighboring Scottsville Race Course.

These Units boast upmarket facilities – all en-suite, hot and cold air conditioning, secure parking as well as 14 DSTV Channels. They still, however, retain a hint of their horse-racing heritage. Rooms are also available for disabled persons.

All rooms are surrounded by indigenous gardens which have “nooks and crannies” to explore as well as benches next to ponds where you can sit, relax and meditate.

There is also a swimming pool with covered and open braai facilities which blend into the surroundings.

General Information

  • Ascot Inn offers varied accommodation. Should you have any specific requirements kindly indicate these to the reservations department when making your booking.
  • All rooms are non-smoking, but there are many designated smoking areas.
  • All rooms have a Kettle with a complimentary beverage pack (coffee, tea, sugar and creamer).
  • All rooms have electronic safes, kindly ensure that your valuables are locked away when you are not in your room.
  • All rooms have basic amenities (soap, toilet paper, hand lotion, shampoo). We do offer other amenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, disposable razors, shower caps) which are available at the reception desk at a nominal charge.
  • Should you require any business centre facilities(fax, internet, telephone usage etc), kindly enquire about these services at the reservation desk.
  • We offer laundry facilities at a nominal charge
  • No Pets are allowed on our premises.

Terms and Conditions

  • No provisional bookings will be made. Should you wish to book accommodation, payment must be secured utilising one of the following options :
  • Full accommodation fee to be paid into our bank account and a copy of the deposit slip faxed indicating the details of the booking.
  • Credit card details to be provided on a confirmation form which we will forward to you. Payment can then be made upon arrival.
  • An official Company Order to approved account customers.
  • Please ensure that all cancellations for group bookings are done 72 hours prior to the arrival date. A cancellation fee will be levied for non-arrivals and late cancellations.
  • Please ensure that individual bookings are cancelled 24 hours prior to the date of arrival. Late cancellation and / or non-arrival will result in the full accommodation fee being levied.
  • Rooms are available from 14:00 and should be vacated at 10:00 upon departure.
