Annual Bonsai Show

Until Sun, 19th Nov '17 | All Day

If you think that “bonsai” are just ”those cute little trees in pots”, think again. Yes, in almost every collection you will find small bonsai as well as exotic trees such as the much sort after junipers, elms etc. However, in South Africa we seem to be going bigger and more adventurous. Clubs are using more and more indigenous trees and we are the envy of bonsaists world over for our great variety of trees available to us.

Unfortunately, due to our commercial development and population growth, our beautiful trees are being removed at a horrific rate, and soon bonsai trees will be some of the only survivors.

As bonsai growers, the love, care and attention that is given to our trees is of utmost importance. They are sprayed, watered, re-potted (when necessary) and cared for in a way that surpasses even nature

In our club, we even have “bonsai sitters” who take care of other members trees when they go away on holiday or business.

Trees from different clubs as well as the Eastern Province Bonsai Society Club. Trees will be on display at the upstairs hall of the Diaz Club, Cnr 3rd Ave/ Warricker St Newton Park Port Elizabeth, on Friday 17th November 9am – 5pm, Saturday 18th November 9am – 5pm and Sunday 19th November 9am – 1pm.

There will be a variety of sales goods from trees, pots, tools. In fact “all things bonsai” available.

A fabulous raffle table with really great prizes, also special raffles on fabulous unique items.

Entrance fee: adults R20 / children R10 and under 12’s free.

For more info contact Jenny on 083 999 1058.
