Long gone are the days when Pietermaritzburg’s culinary scene was subjected to local scorn. The capital is now home to a handful of innovative and impressive London-influenced restaurants that cater to all tastes and budgets, and one of them is the all-new Coffeeberry.

Owned by Con and Sue Malherbe, Coffeeberry was established in 2005, and for 11 years lived on a stark white corner in the Cascades Lifestyle Centre and was the place to go to for a quick sit down meal and cappuccino for people from all walks of life.

Fast forward to September 2016 and Coffeeberry has gone next-level dining, quickly becoming the place to be in Pietermaritzburg.

It has relocated to its new venue overlooking the beautiful new Cascades Centre piazza, has rebranded, and is a warm, natural wood and brick industrial chic restaurant, serving fresh, home-from-home breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Coffeeberry is a genuinely relaxed and friendly neighbourhood restaurant, which also happens to have a magnificent menu, a wine list and more, with trading hours Monday to Saturday from 7am to 9pm, and 7am to 8pm on Sundays and public holidays.

The Coffeeberry brand has been synonymous with award-winning cappuccinos since its inception in 2005 and has been at the forefront of the development of our local coffee culture in Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands over the years. Our coffee is sourced from Uganda, Tanzania and Columbia and is blended and roasted exclusively for Coffeeberry in the heart of the KZN Midlands. We get it fresh, and then it’s over to our highly experienced and passionate team of baristas who weave their magic and turn out consistently exceptional coffee for your enjoyment.
