You can relax or read a book under a huge Flamboyant tree in our beautiful, mature garden or cool off in our swimming pool after an exciting day of exploring the many attractions our area has to offer. The Braai area invites you to prepare your catch after a hectic day of fishing. And when the morning comes a sumptuous buffet breakfast will be waiting for you.

But if adventure is what you are looking for, the South Coast has everything you can imagine including beautiful, endless beaches. For the whole family an outing to the u’Shaka Marine World or the popular Harbour Cruise, the Golden Mile, not to forget the unique experience of a bygone era: a journey on the Umgeni Steam Train through the Valley of a Thousand Hills.

From Hilltop-Durban B&B everything is within easy reach. For the experienced Scuba Diver the Protea Banks are a must, whereas Aliwal Shoal, some 5 KM in length is one of the largest reefs on the South African coastline, will enchant you with its easier accessible gullies, dramatic drop-offs, pinnacles and blow-holes.

On the other hand the tribe of Zulus who live in this area. During its regent ship, Shaka Zulu formed a large unified Zulu tribe all over Southern Africa. Since 1820 the Zulus live in KwaZulu Natal and contribute an important part in respect to save the traditional way of living.

The „Nation of Heaven" like Shaka named his people is still a very proud community. Besides the Zulus, the Indian are forming the second large group of people living in KwaZula Natal. No other place on earth besides India, gives residence to such a large number of Indians.

The colorful quantity of different people is supported by immigrants coming from all over Europe who moved to South Africa during the last 300 years. The process of combination between African, Indian and European traditions, habits, faiths and different way of lives is still going on.
