Mend A Bath International is the most successful sanitaryware resurfacing franchise network worldwide.

Every year, our franchisees refinish thousands of worn out baths and bathroom fittings in homes, hotels, hospitals and other institutions globally.

Franchising our success

Founded by South African entrepreneur Ivor Benn in 1976, the company today exports resurfacing products to franchise operations in more than 20 countries.

And, with fantastic opportunities still available in new and emerging markets, Mend A Bath International is constantly expanding its franchise network.

Ivor first realised the tremendous business potential while sitting on top of the iconic Table Mountain in Cape Town more than 35 years ago.

Looking out over the myriad city lights that evening, he saw the untapped opportunity that lay in each of the homes below – thousands of baths, basins and tiles potentially in need of refinishing.

He turned this potential into reality through passion, and his bath resurfacing business began to make a global splash.

Today, the late Ivor’s entrepreneurial spirit lives on as our franchisees successfully run their independent operations following our highly effective business format.

Each franchise owner is trained in all aspects of the resurfacing business at our international headquarters in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

The Mend A Bath International head office manufactures its own unique resurfacing products, ensuring the highest quality coating products for our franchisees and their clients.

We offer a comprehensive written guarantee certificate.

With no breaking out of the bath, no damage to tiles and no need for expensive new plumbing, you save up to 75% of replacement costs. And your “new” bathroom suite will be ready to use within 24 hours.

Available in a range of standard colours, the coatings adhere to anything from original cast iron, pressed steel and marble to modern ceramics and acrylics.

Product innovations

Mend-a-Bath International Product InnovationsOptional extras during the resurfacing process include innovations such as Perma-Trim and Slip-Resist.

Perma-Trim permanently seals the gap between the edge of the bath and wall tiles to provide an attractive alternative to fixing damaged grouting or mildewed and dirty silicone.

Our Slip-Resist application creates a slip-resistant pattern on the base of the bath and is used by leading hotel groups and hospitals to enhance user safety.
