Innovative manufacturing techniques have enabled Dekade to produce paint that is lead-free, has low odour and contains lower Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

VOCs are chemicals which are emitted as gases when certain products (including certain paints) are used. One source of VOCs are the solvents used in solvent-based paints to control drying time and application properties.

These may cause adverse short and long-term health effects. The importance of choosing a low-VOC paint is particularly relevant when selecting an interior paint. Studies have revealed that some VOC emissions can be as high as two to five times stronger inside than outside.
