PEOPLE AND THE COMPANY

Stairway Properties is a privately-owned family business located in the Helderberg area with owners Willie, Esmè and Willem (Jnr). Stairway Properties is the sum of decades worth of experience and a wealth of knowledge in every facet of the construction industry, but most importantly, Stairway Properties is a family that loves what they do.

It started out as a hobby for something that Willie loved doing, taking bare land and creating wonderful homes. He learned the art of building from his father at a very young age. Willie gained a wealth of knowledge and experience over the past 30 years doing what he loved. His knowledge of construction and his management repertoire was greatly enhanced with his intimate involvement in the recent R650 million, 28 000m2 project that today holds the prestigious title of being the most advanced forensics laboratory in the world, which is situated in Plattekloof, Western Cape.

Time proved that the desire to create something out of nothing transcends through the family as Willem, like his father, started learning the art of building when he was only 5 years old. Through the guidance and mentorship of his father, he too became skilled in the art of building, after high school, Willem went on to obtain a 4-year B.Sc. degree at the University of Stellenbosch. It was only a matter of time before the fruits of his degree would start playing an important role in the success of the business.

Esmè, being a legal secretary, played a critical role in in the success of Willie’s real estate hobby and ultimately the creation of Stairway Properties. Her extensive knowledge of conveyancing, legal matters and administrative aspects of property and real estate provided the support and framework to what today stands as a testament of dozens of successful projects and happy home and business owners.

Integrated Projects

In this package, we provide our client with a comprehensive and all-inclusive solution. The three main parts of the package include an erf/plot, an approved building plan as well as the construction of the property itself.

We take the hassle out of the administrative pre-construction phase by acquiring the erf/plot, completing the land surveyor assessment, appointing an engineer to assess the soil stability and structural performance of the proposed building plans which furthermore have to be approved by various entities such as the H.O.A., city council and registering the project at the NHBRC.

This allows the client to save several months and thereby allowing construction to take place promptly once the agreement of the contract has been finalized. The client also has the benefit of input of their desired interior and exterior finishing touches, which can include but is not limited to:

• Flooring types such as wood, carpet or tiles
• Cabinets and cupboards of kitchen and bedrooms
• Kitchen design and all related finishings such as counter tops, fittings, basins, taps etc.
• Bathrooms fittings such as baths, showers, basins, toilets and all related plumbing fittings
• Lighting and electrical fittings and electrical outlet types and design
• Colour scheming of walls, floors, doors, windows, interior and exterior (Depending on H.O.A. regulations and building plan limitations)
• Landscaping of gardens and driveway design
• The ability to customize your property before its completion allows for a more appealing and better-suited property not only visually, but also financially.

For clients seeking to purchase a home or commercial real estate on offer and who wish to rather not indulge in the building process or simply do not have the time, our brand new finished properties are ready for their owners and are sold as is.

Not only do our clients get to choose from our prime real estate offers, they also do not have to pay any real estate agent commissions and where properties are VAT rated, no transfer duties on their new property, which equates to several hundreds of thousands of Rands.

Contract Projects

If you already have an erf/plot and building plans or intend to acquire that yourself and only require the expertise of a construction company, we can assist you from start to finish, provide expert advice and guidance to ensure a smooth transition from a concept to the finished product.
