Civil Engineer

DESCRIPTION

You will be required to do the following in this role:
• Responsible for the leadership and ownership of Environmental Engineering department.
• Responsible for all the closure designs relating to all mining activities such as WRD’s, TFS’s and Open Pits.
• Responsible for all storm water designs in terms of closure.
• All designs will require integration into the closure plan and other and closure liability:
o Assign relevant closure and rehabilitation criteria.
o Modelling of facilities based on assigned criteria.
o Compile Bill of Quantities.
o Compiling of reports and technical memorandums.
• Ensure that closure designs comply with the Anglo American Standards and Global Industry Standards on Tailings Management.
• Interacting with relevant team members and clients.
• Creating systems to flag variance to plan; suggest advice to Teams on course corrective action.
• Provide rehabilitation oversight and sign off on active mine closure and rehabilitation sites.

Qualifications:
• B Degree in Civil Engineering /Post Grad Qualification
• Professional Registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 5-year experience.
• Own vehicle and driver’s license.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD and Civil 3d.
• Understand GIS.
• Microsoft Office.

Workplace:
• The candidate will be required to report and work from the Potchefstroom office
